Robert N. Galdeen, 65 of Lambertville, MI, went home to Jesus on Saturday, August 9, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. Born May 30, 1949 in Toledo, OH, he was the son of Ervin and Dorothy (Lucht) Galdeen. He was a veteran of the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. He married Alynda (Dennison) Diroff on June 1, 2007. Along with marrying Alynda, he was blessed with her 3 children. Bob was a 1967 graduate of Bedford High School and then graduated from Eastern Michigan University. He taught physical education for St. Thomas the Apostle School in Ann Arbor, MI for 30 years, retiring in 2009. In addition he served as Athletic Director, Coach and also a referee of several sports. During the summer, he loved working as a leader at Varsity Day Camp in Pinckney, MI. He enjoyed participating in numerous sports throughout his life, including pitching for the Toledo Thunder baseball team. He was a member of Compelled Church in Temperance, MI, where his passion was working with the Everfree Student Ministry.
He is survived by his loving wife, Alynda. Children, Jonathan (Myrande) Diroff, Alexa (Brian) Skelding, Jessica (David) Daunhauer and 8 grandchildren. Mother, Dorothy Galdeen. Brothers, Melvin (Pati) Galdeen, Joel (Patricia) Galdeen and Gale Galdeen. Sister, Jeanne (John) Kanary and several nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his father and brother, Thomas Galdeen.
Visitation will be from 5-9 pm Tuesday, August 12, 2014, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI. Memorial service will be 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 13, 2014, at Compelled Church, 1655 West Temperance Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI.
